A Spirit Prayer
I have always had a close relationship to the enigmatic energy that is the Third Person of the Trinity- the Holy Spirit. Perhaps it was my time in music ministry in Charismatic Prayer Groups. Perhaps it was my fascination with the role of this Divine Energy I read about in the Acts of the Apostles. Perhaps. Then again, it is more likely to be my personal experience of a presence of goodness at times in my life when things changed or things even reversed (for the better) and I could find no way to explain it other than the presence being this undefinable, uncontainable friend of ours. Well, my Divine Friend, we need you now more than ever. And so, a prayer:Spirit of God, I believe in you
Spirit of God, I love you
Spirit of God, I trust you
Spirit of God, fill me
Spirit of God, energise me
Spirit of God, radiate out from me
Spirit of God, let me be a presence of love, joy and mercy
Spirit of God, thank you for our world- we marvel at your works!
Spirit of God, bless our cities, towns and villages
Spirit of God, protect us from virus, tyranny and war
Spirit of God, fill all hearts with love
Spirit of God, raise up the oppressed
Spirit of God, give a voice to the voiceless
Spirit of God, give wise counsel to those in leadership
Spirit of God, thank you for the days ended
Spirit of God, thank you for the days beginning
