I pray in thanksgiving for the amazing gift of life and I marvel at a God who would deem one such as I as being worthy of that gift.
I pray that, whatever demanding circumstances I may face into today, I remember that life is a gift from you and that I should treasure that gift through love, joy and mercy for others and for myself.
I pray that I may have eyes to see and ears to hear that you are in all things and that, whatever I turn my hands and heart to today can be moments to glorify you through kindness, compassion, hard work and selflessness.
I pray for those who are less well off, less fortunate and less well than I am today. Allow me, in some small or big way, to be the presence of your love and justice in a world that needs it now more than ever.
I pray for an end to this pandemic; not only at home where we are all to aware of the sickness, death and disruption it has caused, but also all over the world, especially in this places where this disease is out of control and devastating families, communities and countries. Give us wise leaders and talented scientists who will prioritise the health and well-being of all people, most especially those who are vulnerable.
I pray for the special intentions of all who read this prayer. God in all things, you know our hearts and you know our prayers. I trust that you will answer all these prayers of intention in your time and in your way.
I pray for the dead, for those who know what I can only believe in trust; that life changes but does not end. May they know the comfort of your loving arms and may we who grieve them know that comfort too.
