World Refugee Day 2020- I Don’t Care?

I DON’T CARE?

I want to say it

So loud that it shatters glass

And eardrums burst

And hearts break

I DON’T CARE

It is the only response

The only one

That can be true

To the ancient path, the original script

I DON’T CARE

In proper use

It expresses so well

(not apathy at all)

An honest disregard

For anything

That gets in the way

Of love, joy and mercy

Try it out:

“They’re foreigners”- I DON’T CARE! I’m glad they’re here

“They’re begging”- I DON’T CARE! If I wasn’t so lucky, I could be there too

“They’re not like us”- I DON’T CARE! They are our brothers and sisters

“They have different beliefs than us” I DON’T CARE! We live for the most part according to our own conscience and accident of birth

“They hate us” I DON’T CARE! I love them all the more

I DON’T CARE

And in that not caring

My own heart breaks

At distance between us

At rule setting starting points

That drive us apart

When I ache for us all

To be one

Yes

I

DON’T

CARE

We are just one. Same feelings, eyes, nose, mouth. I wonder if we were all blind not from choice but if God had decided to make us unable to judge a person by sight alone. Would we live in a better world ?
Getting to know each other before a judgement is made. Sounds a bit crazy. 👩🏿👩🏾‍🦰👩🏽‍🦱👩🏼‍🦱👩‍🦰 🧕🏽👨🏿‍🦱👨🏾‍🦰👨🏾‍🦰👨🏼‍🦰👨🏽‍🦱👨‍🦲👨🏽‍🦲 I don’t care. Physical or mental disability I don’t care. All made in the image of God.
